The Museo Etnografico “Giovanni Podenzana” is one of the most ancient departments of the La Spezia City Museum, founded in 1873: it saves, studies, exhibits and promotes local and extra-regional ethnography items, collected since 1850s.
The Museum is a meeting point for anthropology and ethnography researchers, especially for those who study the historical area known as Lunigiana storica. It works together with other Italian and international institutes.
The Museum is located in the city centre of La Spezia (via del Prione), inside the premises of the 15th Century Oratory dedicated to St. Bernardino from Siena.
